It's almost a brand new year and we often celebrate this with fireworks. There are many fantastic math and STEM connections related to fireworks. You could do a great science-focused STEM lesson about the burn temperatures for the common chemical ingredients for fireworks and the relationship to the colors made. You could create a wonderful math-focused STEM lesson on parametric equations and the path that the fireworks makes when we view them in the sky. Or, you could have fun with a fantastic technology-related STEM activity where you MAKE your own *virtual* fireworks using MATLAB! Here's the result:
Enjoy & Happy New Year!!!!
